This kookie arrangement of squares and crosses bring to mind the old hopscotch game where we drew chalk lines on the sidewalk into an arrangement of squares. The game begins when a child throws a small object or stone into one of the squares. Then he must hop scotch thru the squares on one foot, pick up the object and hop back to the start. How simple games were in the 50's.
Quick, simple and fun with two basic blocks. No curves or fancy angles to piece. Perfect for a beginner but striking in design.
This "Bonkers for Boys" quilt was designed by Yvette Jones for Pink Hippo Quilts, May 2013. The cover quilt was made by Marian Gallian. Machine quilting by Kathryn Carbine of the Stitching Corner in Orem, UT. Fabric for this quilt was provided by Riley Blake Designs.
