Great Grandma's quilt is finally finished

I'm so proud to own this quilt and especially glad that I took the time to finish it. It was hand pieced in the 1930's by Mary Elizabeth Dailey Boulton in an old Hawaiian pattern. this is my ex-husbands grandmother. The unfinished quilt top has been at my house for over 20 years. Because it is cheddar yellow/orange it was not in high demand. So now it is mine and I love it. I put a vibrant Amy Butler print on the back and had it quilted in a non-traditional way.

Sighting at the Stitching Corner

While shopping I saw one of my quilt designs hanging in the store. It is my "Holly Jolly" pattern. I loved the fabric selections. A beautiful quilt overall pieced by Susan Hyatt and quilted by Kathy Carbine. The Stitching Corner is located in Orem, Utah. The store is owned by my friend Scott Blackham.

Day 2 of my Paintbox Quilt Challenge

4 more done - spring green and yellow green

New Paintbox Quilt Challenge for me

I decided I wanted to try Elizabeth Hartman's Paintbox quilt. I've always wanted a quilt that showcased all the colors in the color wheel. This is fun. These are my chartreuse blocks.

If you want to try this with me, the pattern is available as a tutorial on her blog "Oh, Fransson!" or www.ohfransson.com/2008/10/how-to-make-paintbox-blocks.html
